History and Tradition
- Ekoin monastery is one of the oldest active monasteries in Koyasan, an internationally famous Buddhist retreat village founded 1,200 years ago. This monastery has a rich history, a beautiful garden, architecture, and the monks are very friendly and invite guests to participate in daily activities such as meditation, the goma fire ceremony, and lantern-lit tours of Okunoin cemetery.

- Serves special vegetarian food, prepared in the Japanese Buddhist tradition by monks daily.
